The ECB approved an additional €2 billion in liquidity to
Greek banks through the Emergency Liquidity Assistance mechanism
raising the ceiling to €78.9 billion.
There will not be a final agreement on Greece at the
Eurogroup meeting on Monday, said Fin Min Yanis Varoufakis after
meeting with EU commissioner Pierre Moscovici.
Deputy PM Yannis Dragasakis will meet ECB President Mario
Draghi in Frankfurt, while Fin Min Yanis Varoufakis will meet his French
counterpart Michel Sapin in Paris.
The heads of the country's four systemic banks stress the
need for an agreement with Greece's international creditors to end
uncertainty and return to growth.
Wide differences over pension and labour reforms continued
to dog intensive Greece - EU negotiations, as the country's cash
position becomes increasingly critical.
The head of Bundesbank criticised the Greek government for
failing to implement reforms & said it is possible for a country
within the eurozone to become insolvent.
With the ongoing negotiation between Greece and its EU
creditors in a stalemate, a government plan for a higher flat VAT tax
has been reported in the Greek press.
